September 07, 2011, (Sawf News) - Aishwarya Rai had hoped to return as protagonist in Madhur Bhandarkar's Heroine post childbirth, but Kareena Kapoor walked in and replaced Aishwarya in the project.
According to a TOI source, Kareena's return to the project that she had earlier rejected, has caused bad blood between Kareena and the Bachchans.
The Bachchans and the Kapoors had a fallout earlier after Abhishek Bachchan and Kareena's elder sister Karisma Kapoor broke up in February 2003, after having been engaged for just four months.
According to the TOI source, "Ash is rumored to be upset with Bebo. Just the fact that Bebo decided to walk into a project that Ash was meant to resume post her maternity leave is reportedly the reason for the stress."
Kareena denies any wrong doing saying, "Madhur and the film corporation were very keen that I should be in Heroine. The film was written for me originally.''
In early August, Kareena, 30, confirmed reports that she would replace Aishwarya in Heroine and that Bhandarkar has now tweaked the script to her liking.
Heroine was scripted with Kareena in mind, but the role went to Aishwarya, because Bhandarkar earlier refused to accommodate script changes sought by Kareena.
UTV and Madhur Bhandarkar announced Heroine with much fanfare at the Cannes Film Festival on May 13, 2011. The film began production on June 7 in Mumbai, but a week later the producers shelved the project because Aishwarya announced that she is pregnant.
